Oh I see. I originally misred. Baling and stacking charges must be £15/T
You would have got £20-25 for the silage last year, and £35 for new stuff this year up here, so around about that I'd have thought. I'm quite happy to buy year old stuff for my cattle. Maybe £30?What to price 100 bales of 2021 round bale silage. Cut first week of June? Any ideas. Have been feeding some recently and it’s still good no signs of any mould.
Also need a ball park price for 2022 round bale meadow hay. Thanks

ThanksWhat sort of weight is in the bales? Ie how much per tonne?
If you are selling/buying per bale then how many a tonne should not be taken into account as unless you put every bale sold over a weighbridge you cannot legally sell per ton! What sort of weight is in the bales? Ie how much per tonne?
...but it would be nice to have a basic idea of what weight you are getting .......there are baler drivers ......and people who can operate balers .... can make a big difference to how much fodder you are getting .If you are selling/buying per bale then how many a tonne should not be taken into account as unless you put every bale sold over a weighbridge you cannot legally sell per ton!
I understand that. I also understand it’s a bloody weird way to sell a quantity of something like silage. If you are selling/buying per bale then how many a tonne should not be taken into account as unless you put every bale sold over a weighbridge you cannot legally sell per ton!

Ouch, I'm being quoted £100.Just had 30 t at £85 t delivered to Devon
Too dear at presentOuch, I'm being quoted £100.
why?Too dear at present
Because it’s been £40 off the field in eastern countieswhy?
grower has to have a profit, over and above the value of chopping it.
the man baling it, has to be paid.
the man loading, and unloading, has to be paid
the man that sells/delivers it, has to buy the fuel, maintain his lorry, and make a profit.
don't think there's to much money made at £85ton
we paid £80, but that was to save unloading, putting it in a barn, and reloading it, The straw had to be shifted, off the field.
