Been very quiet on this thread. Will start lifting main crop markies first week of October. Can someone give us all some good news on the price front. Also how are yields of what’s been lifted. I know they are going to be reduced and we need to start shouting about it to try and make everyone realise that and then maybe we will slowly get that price creeping up to somewhere where it should be. 🤞

Bloody hope so.somethings gotta pay for chems, fert, bags, irrigation, my time and effort, seed ,diesel, electric
£200 tonne don't cut it anymore
They ought to be £400+ as they are going to be worse than 2018 which was £400 for me. Father only hit that once in 1976. Christ knows what they should be with inflation.

What’s people’s guess on this years national yield, mine is 4.7 mil tons probably about what our annual consumption is now. Will exports figure heavily this year, pound weak and poor yields in Europe? Just trying to decide whether we sell off the field at £220 or pay £65 storage? They will need to be over £300 out of store.

I'd sell. Best yield is straight ot of field

How are peoples Markies looking? We seem to have high stem / tuber numbers, 15-20 tubers per root which isn't ideal this year! Not sure if its the season or the physiological age of the seed. We usually use French seed but it was unavailable this year due to regulations!
