Potato Price Tracker

out of wonder how much does it cost to irrigate an acre of potatoes? We have never done it here, you’ve just got to be careful which varieties you grow.
Similarly how much is it now costing those with cold stores to keep them running?
Coldstore can use a fair bit of power but have a better quality crop to sell, but you only get out what you put in

I think we were about £25/acre inch for diesel this year add about the same for everything else, including non cash items. 1 week we did 400 acre inch.

Luckily I locked in @15.7p unit year and half ago.still have 7 months on that price which will see me ok for this storage season.
Wish I'd fixed it for 5 years now!!!
Not sure what folks are paying now but will be crippling

Fuel to pump water alone has cost just north of £300/ac, I haven't worked out the total cost yet.

No cold stores here, ambient bulk is expensive enough! Again not calculated this seasons likely cost yet (Still lifting) Its not like we have any choice but to put them in the store, it'll be what it'll be

Are you on processing stuff? I am looking at that sort of thing as we have high levels of black dot and cant produce stuff that'll store long term because of that, also sandy soils are abrasive.
Yes, all processing, chips and crisps. Consortium and bugboost sorted the rhizoctonia without the pitfalls of amistar. That and OM in the ridge (rather than under it) sorted the bit of black dot we had.
