Beet 23

They should have thought about this before I got drilled up.
March is not the time to put out these offers.
On the contrary; the world and his dog with any old rough land will have taken up the offer if it was sent out too early. It’s only going to be financially rewarding if you don’t anticipate hitting 70t/ha

Has anyone ever put Primary P down the spout when drilling sugar beet? I have just tried some in the microgranular applicators on my old beet drill and it works out at approximately the correct rate, maybe only a touch over. Only thing that puts me off is unless do a lot of adapting it will be applying the Primary P over the top of the seed and around it, rather than underneath it as far i can see. Agronomist says i need about 10kg/ha so that will be about £40/ha . Worth a go?

I tried a micro granule starter fert through the granular applicator on the middle 6 rows of my drill a few years ago. Just applied it in furrow as you would vidate ect it didn't do any harm but also I couldn't see where id did any good either.
I'd prefer a more micro nutrient and N rather than P based fert as I'm high P anyway but what I want doesnt seem to exist.

Are you joking? I thought (hoped) it was for existing growers.

thought you'd be pleased for me....back into the 'arable fold' as it were🤔....I suppose jealousy is a terrible thing😁

anyhoo ploughing up some grass today...BS said 'get on with it ' and they're the boss

seedbed fert going on ploughed ground... next week onwards...£52/ac which seemed cheap to me but I suppose indexes all 3+ and it's mainly salt🤔
