There’s definitely something in keeping going though . The fittest physically and mentally 70/80/90 year olds I know are all still working in a fashion .

Know of a couple of farmers who died in their early 60s, remember having a conversation with a cousin about it, coming to the conclusion that if you got past 61 - 62 you'd be ok for quite a while.
I also thought about that conversation while I was in hospital after having slight heart attack and stent fitted about 14 months ago.
Oh yes I'm 63 now

Thanks , i just wish he had talked to one of his many friends , really popular fella allways laughing life soul of the party , i was at a party with him January and had to plead with him to stop making me laugh as my sides were agony laughing, fortunately that is how i will remember him now .

Call me a cynic but in farming especially the key to survival seems to be how to be shafted the least, it comes from all angles.
Seems beef is going dearer ! Gisburn an absolute flyer for bulls and clean and talk of very busy selling it ! I honestly can’t for the life of me work out how they are so dear same as cull cows what they add up to is unbelievable now yet on the sheep job the trade is crap due to imported ! If ever there becomes cheap beef in the world there will be some serious crash !

The stolen quads this morning , i told my son about it , he went to work and bingo two quads pass him on road with blaaclavas on , his boss with him , tells boss boss phones police and helicopter out , big chase and catch one chase is still on going with other one and hopefully they get the barsteward .

We caught one loading a quad onto a tranny pickup took him to police he said he had found it and was just having a ride on it police were on their side so he got away with it they reckoned I couldn’t say he was loading it up even though he had boards and was driving it up them onto the pickup
Pity something had happened to him between us catching him and the police appearing no idea what that was but it must have hurt
