See, prof flatty. I told you he was talking a load of seed dressing earlier!!!!!spoilsport...I had a whole yarn ready for weeks...variety was gonna be a new experimental one...'panther'...with a brown seed dressing that quickened establishment (nutrients and warmth) with pest repelling qualities
Lets hear something about last years crop first, it has gone very quiet. Talking to my neighbour's this morning one had a low of 14.5% sugar another 13.5% another 12.5%. Profitable crop?Since its 1st March tomorrow, thought I'd start the next year's worth of sugar beet fun and games
@Breckland Boy have you started....or finished!! drilling yet?
Not at those sugars and high dirtsLets hear something about last years crop first, it has gone very quiet. Talking to my neighbour's this morning one had a low of 14.5% sugar another 13.5% another 12.5%. Profitable crop?
That yield was good for this area.Average sugar was 15.7 with dirt tare at 3.8. We lifted in perfect conditions in early Feb. Yield was only 73.2 tons hct off some no more than average land. Variety was Janinka (Conviso).
Made a decision not to grow in 23, might regret it but at least the risk of wrecking my land with an overweight harvester is gone. Good luck to those growing this season as input costs continue to rise you will need the forty quid a ton to stay where you are.
And here. But your yield was good compared to many (mine included) this year in this area. Some growers on the North East Norfolk coast regularly grow 90 to 100 tons Hct.
They are predicting 21st March, but will remain on a day by day basis after 18th March. Is newark closing this week coming , seen a few fields left yet
I believe 19, 20 and 21 untreated, 22 treated and 23 treated. sure someone will confirm for certainWithout me trawling my cropping records can anyone easily tell me me what years we have been allowed/not allowed cruiser since the ban. My guess is something like 2019 and 20 no treatment. 21 treated, 22 untreated and 23 treated? My years refer to the spring of drilling or am I missing a year?
Thinking about it you may well be rightI believe 19, 20 and 21 untreated, 22 treated and 23 treated. sure someone will confirm for certain
