tenuous link possibly but this event seems to have seriously spooked financial markets.

would it have affected grain prices in any way?

someone better qualified than me will probably know?
Considering that all these financial institutions are very incestuous I’m not surprised that having one of their own shut down will have really frightened the 💩 out of them and as most of these financial institutions will be playing with commodities I can see how it would have an effect on the grain trade.

Seems strange market is confident of grain corridor extension before negotiations have started?

source: Reuters

-Russia's Foreign Ministry said on March 12 that the country's representatives had not yet taken part in negotiations on extending the Black Sea grain deal. "There have been no negotiations on this subject, especially with the participation of Russian representatives," Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said. The next round of talks on extending the deal will be held in Geneva on March 13 between Russia's delegation and top United Nations trade official Rebeca Grynspan, Zakharova said. Given it runs out in a week, hard to believe that there has been no formal discussion. Although I believe it is automatic renewal unless one side objects.

If Russia did object and close it. Can/will they actually enforce it?

With Turkey reportedly now joining in on some of the trade enbargos to Russia will it make any difference because I thought they were Russians trusted negotiators in the grain corridor.
