Bale? Or ton of clamp?
It says bales
Hi prices kill the trade
I stopped stocking round hay when it hit £50 as customers think you are Ricky Rip Off and don't come back the next year If it's plentiful, well some do but some don't
Truth is I was making more money years ago when I was buying them for £10 and selling them fir £15

Merchant near us selling round hay for £60. We’ve almost sold out of our quota of about 1200 round bale hay that we’ve bought in. Maybe another 100 left but we’ve not ever run out of round hay before.

What are hay prices like at the moment? Sold some a month ago for £135/ton.
£85/t according to AHDB. Not sure where you can get it for that though.

View from the crowd
the only good sheep hay in was the £184/t load. I was the last loser on it but my knees started to give way at that money. The unsold hay couldn’t get a bid at £70, it had no smell and was packed with docks. Unsold barley straw had a reserve of £85. Fodder definitely seemed in good demand while straw was roughly the same it had been all winter. The round bale wheat was lovely grassy straw. I bought that at £70 for a mate
