Need a good leaf blower

I'm looking at buying a decent back pack petrol blower, budget of around £700 I've been looking at the stihl ones but there are so many different ones I'm not sure which one to buy.
It needs to be of contractor standard as it will be running for 6 hrs a day in autumn.

Can anyone recommend a blower in my price range

We have a STIHL BR 430 and can’t complain. In the summer it gets used daily blowing down machines and sheds. Winter time not so much. Only regrets was not getting the 450 where you can start it once it’s warm with a button instead of having to do a Masonic dance to try and get ut started with it on your back, or taking it off. It’s not really that much more money and in your budget.

Got the range topper Husky.., model eludes me right now, but she blows well!

6 hours on a blower is a hell of a task.
They don't blow directly away from you as the spout is at the side so they are constantly trying to twist you. I can't fight that for 6 hors these days and certainly wouldn't be doing it the next day.
I would say try and hire a few and buy the one you find easiest to use.

I got the electic start version, start circuit lasted about 1 year , works fine now but string pull only.

Apart from that its good blower. I added a chest clip to hold the shoulder straps together otherwise it constanty angles and puts all weight on one shoulder.

Another vote for Stihl, but I'd echo the comments about the twisting effect even when trying to hold the tube with both hands.

Also don't forget that grain dust creates the perfect environment for a 'mill explosion', and nothing creates a thick cloud of dust like a backpack blower...
