Busy day at a busy time of the year.
Amongst other things such my usual Monday morning meeting with the Co Chairman, then spraying pre-ems on to wheat that was drilled into linseed stubble yesterday and loading 2 lorries with Barley, I dug this (the plough) out of the shed and washed the dust of it

And 2 lorries and trailers of this round bale hay also left the farm.

On top of which I emptied the drill of wheat and calibrated it for Bazooka Hybrid Barley and mowed the lawn for Mrs Two Tone, ahead of her Tai Chi teaching class taking place in the garden as usual later this week.

To cap it all, RPA sent an email inviting me to start an SFI application.
When TF am I supposed to find time to do that this time of the year?

The Linseed stubble coming into the Bazooka will need another dose of Roundup ahead of the drill to kill a secondary flush of Blackgrass since the Roundup I applied 3 weeks ago. We dare not drill it and add more Roundup, as the drill will bury some of the BG which will recover. And being Barley, there is no Atlantis type back-up armoury. However, if we can kill the BG that is there now and get the Barley established with a very robust pre-em, hopefully it will out compete a third BG flush.
With BG at such levels, wheat even with an Atlantis type product is a complete waste of time. Only Hybrid barley would stand any chance of making a decent crop.
