End of inheritance tax ?

Death tax of 10 % on everybody, however rich or poor would be better in my opinion, estates valued properly ,after all I won't be wanting all my bit when I'm 6 foot under
But why. They’ve taxed every bit of it already. If I choose to work 100 hours a week to make a better life for my kids why shouldnt they benefit instead of someone who spokes 100 a day and is on holiday every other month

What it might do, is stop these contract farming shams, designed to keep the landowner 'farming'. Whether that's a good thing or not, I don't know. On the one hand, they provide opportunity for people starting out, on the other, I know of landowners who would otherwise let land out on a sensible length tenancy, but don't because of IHT

Are you sure?
I thought contract farming became a think in Scotland anyway after the government gave tenants the right too buy and heavily favour tenants rights so now all landlords are too terrified to let ground in anyway incase the tenant claims a tenancy on the land and the land owner loses his farm.

Will that maybe encourage the older generation to hand over the farm any earlier to the next generation?
