Power pole snapped in a field about 11am power seemed low but stayed on while about 2pm then cut out altogether. Leccy board are gonna have to plant a new pole and join the busted wires back up. Not a pleasant job as it’s raining sideways. Can’t see it getting sorted for a day or 2 as we’re at the end of a line.

Really glad we’ve got a big auld genny for running the drier. And when we got it a cable and change over switch to the main fuse board fitted. Out of the 17th century and back into the 21st just by pressing a button😂😂

Edit- leccy gang just rocked up, so went to see them they reckon there’s a 1000 more new poles need planting after ours.

We have had rain like this in the past, it’s the timing of it that’s concerning. The majority of winter cereals will have either been planted last weeks or just emerging. I hope I’m proved wrong but this must be having a large effect on next years harvest already judging by the fields round here and the forecast for the next 7 days.
Never seen the farm so wet all like this ,least it not had pr em washed away

Last night the intrepid reporter was on a North East beach, the angry sea behind him, bracing himself against the wind.
Across the shot, Geordie, with his tee shirt on, strolls by walking his dog :ROFLMAO:
The dicks here had their Ateam satellite van parked on the inside of a bend,100yds away from the Road Closed sign half on and half off the road. Total gridlock with 2 artics trying to turn. Road blocked.

Whoever gave permission to build houses next to that river in Brechin needs there head checked.
Used to be the bleaching greens when the Mills were the employer in town.
152 mm in 24 hrs here.
Bridge undermined and deck dropped, roads undermined, trees sliding off slopes, debris everywhere,
But still some think it is a normal day on the naturists camp...

Rained last night on Vale of York, not much today and during daylight you hardly needed a coat on, it was just mizzle in the wind
Lads in next village were flat out lifting spuds & carting tatie trailers all day, so wasn’t wet enough to stop the potato harvesting where we were situated
Very weird weather

Certainly testing it's resilience this year
Even some of the early stuff that has gone into headlands has tested it's resilience here. All we need now is wet till April then nothing after and it will really get tested, I can't see many good root systems being developed, a dry November or December would be ideal.

Horncastle has a multi million flood scheme just above the town BUT a sensor failed to work and the Enviroment Agency took several hours to get to it!! They did not think because of the forecast they should check it!! The town has been hit hard. Typical!!

I don't think Anglian water will be putting the new main in anytime soon .
Good job they pulled the machinery out on Thursday, there was a 30tn 360 stood there ,the water is now 10ft deep in the trench they had dug out .

We wondered why there’d been so much damage. That would explain it.
