This part of the pivot was drowned out this time last year. As it hadn't been in more than 12 months I opted for a re seed. Considering how bad it was last year, I'm extremely happy with how it turned out.

Considering the consensus is you can't thicken up a Lucerne stand due to auto toxicity.

Direct drilling Winter Beans
Many thanks to @Warnesworth for the use of his drill with Metcalfe points.
The drill used to belong to @Charlie Flindt
My old 7740 handles it ok on the flat.
A few teething problems with a leaking Spool valve coupling on the tractor might mean she goes back in the shed and gets changed for another tractor.
Which would be a shame as I love this old girl and so nice for her to do a proper job

What utter joy to see it being used and loved! We kept it on as the lean mean bean machine after we bought the ST4 for everything else. Great to see.

day on the digger as its to wet for much else, finding a crushed pipe done by machines when the new grain store was dug out last year, this was the route the dumpers took. dug out old. replaced with new, backfilled and sealed up excess soil to be used somewhere else when its dry.
apprentice is 1 today 🥳

i knew you could train those spanials but to drive a diger well thats something else

Last week went to tidy a job where a contractor had dug out without first installing adequate ground support

We wasn’t on site long and realised that a 20t machine wasn’t going to be big enough, please bear in mind this is down a cul-de-sac in a driveway

IMG_2555.jpeg

So today we had a 30 tonner dropped off

IMG_2608.jpeg

Wasn’t much room on site for both machines so parked the 20t up for a few mins to the dismay of residents

Not the photo you want to get when you’re 350miles away. Hopefully water has peaked and should drop away. They are incredibly stoic about things like this but one or two of the oldies were less than happy!
