Hi all,

I have roughly 30 acres of grade 3 agricultural land , just looking for advice on what is a profitable option for it ?

I would like it to be my main source of income , I have a barn on the site. It is at present grass

Farming experience 0 / 10 😂

It’s gonna be hard to make a living farming 30 acres, unless you find a niche selling great produce straight to people with really good marketing etc, all costs money
Do you like working 90 hours a week for nothing then just when you’re on your last legs the weather turns and destroys it all? Are you optimistic/foolish enough to try that again next year?

I am pretty foolish and optimistic 😂

I was thinking of local produce, chickens and buying and fattening up some sheep for sale etc

I need to earn around 15k if possible

love working outside and hard work I am used too

You will need a job on the side to earn the 15k, you can fatten plenty of lamb if your a good stockman m but it’s not a guarantee, even if you managed to fatten 300 lambs a year you will be lucky to make £20 head profit if you buy them right and sell them right, and yes you could sell that meat locally for more but that’s 6000kg of meat to shift, which isn’t easy
I don’t want to be a downer but that’s farming!
