So, this week Abi Kay Deputy Editor of Farmers Weekly wrote this article...

Now Abi posted the below tweet.

For those not on Twitter, here's what Abi wrote....

My name has been dragged through the mud because of this 👇🏼
Facts:
- Story was multiple sourced
- NFU & RT were aware I was reporting RT ownership board was leading the gov review & chose not to comment on it
- Orgs on ownership board believed they’d have input into the review

fwiw it's great to see F Weekly doing this sort of journalism.

I've no idea what's going on in the background, but I don't like it one bit. Being discussed elsewhere on TFF, but this really deserves a thread of its own.

I think Abi deserves everyone's support. I'd really like to know who is "dragging her good name through the mud".

Thanks for posting this.
Has there been any talk of blacklisting her because of the article?
It would be interesting to hear if it is organisations or individuals who are applying pressure.
So would I be interested to know; dare to say anything disobliging against NFU President's unwavering belief that RT is the answer to all farming's ills, and you are quickly subjected to the misogynistic bullying card.

Not you too! That’s quite a list she’s compiled.
I don’t for one moment expect Abi to come on here and comment about this, but I hope she and her employers realise that this is the sort of journalism that is appreciated by the readership. It is a risk for FW though, since most of its’s income will probably come from advertising from corporate clients and possibly sponsorship rather than magazine cover sales.

So an organisation that believes farmers should be independently audited/ inspected so their produce is fit to consume wants to audit and inspect itself to show it's fit for purpose, if it wasn't serious you would laugh.
If RT can assure themselves then farmers obliged by statutory regulation can assure their own produce. No need for assurance and no need to be shafted by RT!

Marking their own homework.

Farmers are truly piddled off with the way RT/NFU have handled RT over the years. We fight back. Abi and FW do a factual reports on what seems to be a muddle at RT about who' going to commission the review. Andrew Meridith pokes a bit of satire in his editorial. FW and Abi get it in the neck.

No idea.

Funnily enough I've been reminded it's pantomime season coming up. The baddie normally gets what they deserve, and the good usually shines through 🙂

Hope it happens with this.

Edit. Whole thing is a pantomime.

I tried to laugh, but all that came out was a hacking cough.

I thought Andrew Meredith’s editorial was spot on.

“Oh no it doesn’t!” Is Blenky one of the ugly sisters then? Bradshaw thinks he’s Cinderella, but the glass slipper won’t fit, and it turns out he’s the other ugly sister. Minette is that nasty woman who wants to kill all those puppies.
