Good job there’s plenty of loopholes for business owners and incentives for farmers to buy a new tractor, will only affect paye employed people
You can’t keep buying stuff for ever. Depreciation catches up with you eventually. Plus some folks might like to actually spend some money on something other than ag.

No cuts announced to income support for the utterly unemployable though

They cut the money from a back-to-work scheme to give it to the dole. And earning 50-60k isn't that hard, it's certainly not the mega rich. A headmaster of a large comprehensive school would likely be in that tax band.

In other good news the SNP party is technically bankrupt and are not going to give money to their branches now. (Times news online.) So their fiscal incompetence is all- pervasive.

If someone is utterly unemployable then that person probably requires support from the working population. What would be the alternative? The problem lies with those that could work but choose not to by knowing how to work the system. It seemed, at one time, to be largely physical problems that would be cited but now there only needs to be a wiff of mental health issues. I might add, that is not to decry genuine mental health issues. As always the difficulty is sorting real and spurious.

That be the same oil they want us all to stop using... It's a bit like if dairy farmers started telling everyone to go vegan. Utter f*ckwits all of them
I see the uk government is going to start adding a carbon tax to imported steel, cement etc if they use more carbon than our industries. I guess an import tax / protect British industry. Doubt they will do the same with oil though. Off shore our emissions.
