Prices coming down?

Instead of taking a hit on my 6 year old trade in I was thinking of keeping it and buying another similar age and having 2. Only problem is will end up with 2 old shaggers in the future. I just hate depreciation though.

But if that's against a trade in i bet your own tractor is valued low as well.
That's the way of the world the only thing to think about is the cost to change.
As long as I can hire a tractor for 8 weeks at the same or similar rate I can't see me changing one soon, I'd rather change the combine first.

Be good to see dealers having to talk to people again to be honest, I'm waiting for a phone call about a tractor since July last year, rang and was told on 3 occasions that I'd be contacted as soon as rep had time. I'm sorted now anyway il have great delight in telling him
if they`ve not been in touch by now I fear you may not have the pleasure BUT I hope you do!;)

may well see some used bargains from over stocked dealers in a panic

doubt list prices for new will come down though
It's like with any deal, the minute a seller is hungrier than the buyer, and things move. The manufacturers have had a spell of full order books, long lead times, and being able to put the gun to buyers head. Neighbour was deliberating over a stock tractor last year, was told he needed to decided by lunchtime, because two other buyers lined up, and same model for order was going up by X the following week....he bought...

I heard substantial reductions on new NH T7s from a local dealer, but I haven't confirmed as not in the market.
Looks like being a disastrous year for arable, SFI, milk prices rumbling along, hardly a marketplace where machinery sales will be easy come by. Have heard of two local units where they would always buy new tractors, buying ex hire/used etc., on the basis that buying new just fuels the price rises. Chosen elite brands may also find it harder to justify the premiums based on "it's worth more when you sell it" when interest rates are higher. Having an extra 40k tied up for 5 years is not an insignificant sum any more

This is always a massive turn off for me, I hate being pressured into a sale, rightly or wrongly I would probably walk away.

I’ve recently been pressurised into a new telehandler sale because the 0% is finishing, had to sign up before last Thursday. I only got the price the previous Friday.
Rep kept ringing me .. I heard what he said the first time. I’ve just walked away from it as I can’t and won’t be pressured into anything.

I don't think list prices will drop much if any but I do think there will be some deals to be had, in the next 6months, if your prepared to push hard enough and are ready to walk away from a deal.
