The previously a 'bit unreliable in the damp' electric drive of Belle concrete mixer ( tried new switch and capacitor to no real long term avail. ) being modified to petrol engine . because its such a nice simple little tool to use.

Are they known for having unreliable electrics?
I have an Atika concrete mixer, my father bought it at least 30 years sgo and other then a bearing it hasn't had any problems. And she isn't spared!
I see new ones look pretty much the same as my oldie: https://www.kroon.nl/betonmolens-atika-145-liter

no i think they have a good rep. as far as i know but ours side panels never fitted very well so didn't seal water out as well as they could /should and being used on a long extension lead wouldn't have helped either i think.

Made a track for the plasma cutter, mainly for cutting thicker sections. I have a motor and speed controller on the way, but the drill will do in the meantime. Nice finish despite the poor speed regulation with the drill. Thats 25mm plate.

Starting to make plans to visit your island end of April beginning of May. A week in Netherlands first then 4 days Carbis then 4 days St. Austell

Netherlands a good call, I'm envious.

Any specific reason why St Austell ?

But not too far away The engineering /feel of the Eden Project is well worth a visit , try to ignore the touristy focus.

Great great grandfather is from Halye. We will be in Carbis Bay for a few days, then to St Austell for a few more. Village that bears the family name is not far from St Austell. Went to the Eden Project when we went a number of years ago. Loved it. Highlight of Netherlands will be this, engine was built in Halye. https://www.haarlemmermeermuseum.nl/en/history-pumping-station-cruquius

All welded together. Just need to finish polishing the welds, then make bracket to hang it on the wall.

Is it made in stainless? a real work of art should be named, I expect a two pipe system so no bother getting hot water to go down hill, I still run a old single pipe system so all rads are thermo-syphon and were designed to work that way. A modern day plumber condemned my system to begin with scratching his head couldn't see it working but it does and well, he then calculated the extra footage of pipe work needed for a two pipe system with gallons of the extra water it would take to update the system. He then said it would need a larger boiler to work as the old one would struggle to take an hour to heat the extra gallonage of water before getting up to temperature. I just said if you can take my old boiler out i'll repair the barrel which I did with a few tweaks of improving water and gas flow around the barrel and seems to work just a little better without dead spots. I had just done the repair and a friend had his same make boiler go wrong and said would I like it for spares, now much more modified as had more time work on it has sat in the top of my workshop for years so one day it might be needed.

Yes, 1" stainless tube. Circulating system under pressure. Main floor in concrete slab, second floor tube in metal panels under wood floor. Third floor with radiators. Had all Stelrads and one towel warmer. Two sprung leaks. Replaced one 8ft with locally made extruded aluminum rads. A 3ft one I am making this one for its spot. Low temperature system 120 f. Just need surface area to slowly radiate heat. You can lean against them to look out the window.
If you are ever looking for heating info check these guys out -https://forum.heatinghelp.com/
huge wealth of knowledge especially the older systems.

Come across these problems many times, thing is there are many types of bearing pullers out there but trouble is mostly don't work because of size or inaccessible places, so these are a easy fix and quick to make, ordinary bolt, drill small hole through, then larger up to near the end but not through, thread in as fare as possible, bit of threaded rod with portion of thread removed leaving a point, turn end of bolt to just go through the bearing, neck down a reasonable way up the bolt to weaken it a bit, for this small bearing it was just split in half, but for larger bearings have split them in thirds, occasionally have heat treated both parts, but not this one as can see bolt had chewed end of the rod a bit, there are other ways pulling bearings from blind holes, similar with a necked down bolt but with collet segments, with the bolt fitted through the bearing the collet segments are pushed through one side and then slid round evenly positioned and works,

I have been spending an unhealthy amount of time in the graveyard lately sorting out mum's gravestone, and have been increasingly bothered by our old family angel who overlooks the proceedings from a few doors down from mum and dad's pad, and has lost her outstretched hand at some point in the last 100 years. No amount of searching has uncovered the missing appendage and I was pondering whether it could be replaced. Said angel is entwined around great grandad's cross and about twice the height of an action man . I was thinking of making several that could be attached with a spigot and changed round every now and then to frighten the church warden. Has anyone ever done any stonework jobs or could I mould one from resin?
