What kind of money are fat pigs compared to fat lambs , I was in supermarket other day similar cuts (to my eye) lamb were two or three times the price as pork.one cut of lamb ? Was £42

No I think there will be a lot of heavy lambs about now but lean then early December they will come out after hoppering. I don’t think they will go backwards due to Xmas trade but maybe stand still at £3 per kilo. Over new year January they will be a nice trade £3.30 kilo then ease off before going super dear late March averaging £3.80-4.00. £5-6 for good Hoggs. That’s my balls on the block for a hopefully real prediction. We all need some luck along the way a good payday is needed and farming works opposite to the economy.
My prediction in November, not far off hopefully it holds steady

Will need to be £4 kilo, never mind hesitancy at £3,way expenses are if they want lambs in the future, they will have to decide, if they don't well fair enoughView attachment 1160468
The current lamb price is nothing to be excited about with the high costs now forced onto the industry and the fact BPS has gone!

And the other issue is the amount of farmers quietly selling their ewes and quitting lambing sheep due to the farmers age and their kids having found better paying off farm work.

The SFI payments for things like over wintered bird seed on grassland mean that at current sheep prices it will not add up running sheep on the grass over winter v doing that SFI option.

Sheep numbers are most likely to keep dropping and the sheep price most likely to keep rising over the next 3/5 years!

sounds like good news and defo something to get excited about,
If folk want to give up sheep and claim SFI then they make more money, if they stay in they make more money, what's not to like ? just got to resist chucking it away on over priced crap thats not needed.

That's a great idea, there should be a welly swap thread on here where you can look for or sell the one good welly of a pair when your others got a hole in it.

I’m looking for a left hand sided welly if anyone’s got one to trade or part ex….size 10 but would consider an 11 if it was a le Cameroon or aigle
Strictly no one who has…
