Beef / Lamb & Pig Price Tracker

There was a couple of heifers with calves at foot went back home on wednesday's sale, and I wouldn't blame the vendor for taking them home, will be easier sold in a couple of months time. Anyone here how the sale went at Wigton with the suckler cows that were for sale
I had a look on the report yesterday the top might have been £2450 then down a lot from there looked like they were sensible cheap enough to pick some up

you can be sure anything close to making up the shortfall and rents will go up ! these winter birdfood mixes and the peatland payments will be a no brainer for landlords with suitable land ,

I wonder how long it will be before the government runs out of money for all these bullsh!t herbal and legume schemes.
honesty makes you laugh the way this country is ran

What's bulls**t about the GS4 scheme?! High quality grazing/silage, great feed value and high protein, and very workable conditions re grazing/mowing times. Plus get paid for it. If anyone is growing temporary grass in a rotation you'd be mad not to.

The question you have to ask is (and I said this months ago and was totally shot down for doing so) if these herbal leys were any use then why haven’t farmers and agricultural colleges been using and promoting them before now?
That leaves the money available for doing it that’s the real only incentive and that payment is taken partly or completely back by decline in production.
Which gets back to that’s what they want for whatever reason that is
