Put to work this morning. Just fits through the gateways😬 Hellishly tight fit turning off the track and negotiating the channel crossings

What is it? A dust making machine !😉🤣
Wide board or smuger is what we call them. Essentially it's used to break up soil cldgs and smoth rough paddocks. Most under rated peice of gear in the world in our conditions.

You fill blade up with soil and as the soil flow out under the blade the clods break up.

@cows sh#t me to tears shouldn't need to weld that one up anytime soon.

Especially underrated if you have winter grazed dairy cattle. You can't disc/plough heavy flat ground to get a smooth seed bed , and then expect to graze it over winter if it's wet. We don't all have nice big sheds and acres of concrete. This filks the pug marks without working the ground up. Keeps it traffic able.

I used my leveller for pugging and did an ok job, i will try again now its dried off, probably lacks weight, was talking to a mate last nite about this exact problem and the best kit to deal with it.

I finished levelleing my first paddock here last night and harrowed it afterwards to stop blowing as much.

Be interested to see before and after pics with that rig

Be the machine for the job. As long as you can get the ground dry. Dunstan engineering a smaller one. Those Collier & Miller ones are the best. You couldn't break one. You will pay for it. Few others made locally but probably would be to big for your area. Most of them the board folds side ways. Thus making this 40ft train of thing to try and swing in small gates.

I looked at a Dunstun. Rang and was going to get one. Got price off salesman, only to get a phone call from the boss to say "stiff sĥìť, I'm not making any when it takes the same amount of time to build a mother bin that's worth 3 times as much". So he can get stuffed. Plus they are amateurish compared to this one. Point 1, welded blade. Major major job to replace. Collier &Miller...bolted on. Point 2 . Dunstan, fixed wheels in front of blade. Bounces when smudging rough paddocks. Collier &Miller....Wheels moveable from front to back and vice versa. Plus this thing is heavy....4.5 tonnes...No bouncing with that.
Yes it cost a lot..... But it's the kind of thing you only want to and need to buy once. Will see me and my boys out.

I think levelling is hugely underrated.

Ive been on the band wagon for near 10 years. I'll do my whole farm proper a paddock at a time.

In portland it transformed what i could do on that place in country that can largely be a one trick pony down there.
