Don't understand my sentence or don't understand not being able to justify a tractor for 500 sheep?
You didn't put sheep in your first post, I get it now,
depends what you are going to use it for, tractor is not much good without an implement/loader and a job to do.
lots of sheep farmers seem to live on their quad bikes I don't have one, had one for a bit but found it wasn't used so sold it

If I were an arable farmers I'd probably agree.we split a field a few years ago ,half got dung on ,none on the other.nearly half a ton difference per acre.ive done the same with grass too.

I always chuckle to myself when they go on about compaction.then lift tatties an carrots in total gutters leaving fields like a bomb site.

My parents had a few days away up near the Shropshire/Welsh border 2 weeks ago and saw some lads trying to lift carrots. They reckoned it was about the worst conditions they've ever witnessed 😅 must take the land years to recover if at all.

I want the inspectors joab !
you probably dont , had one inspector here and there isnt much loyalty from their superiors , quite a lot of distrust , any decent (or helpful information) in the meetings they have and your name is on a list , first out the door if they make cuts , very dog eat dog higher ups looking after number 1 , (this was when we were in the EU so may be different now ) , sounds very like Red tractor / NFU board

Agree, but it’s not what they want at the moment. Farming has been directed by government policy for as long as I can remember, which is becoming a scarily long time
I'm coming round to the idea of going it alone, stuff them and their inpections....be tight for couple of years but by time they realise food is needed to stay alive we will be in pole position to capitalise.
