You wouldn't want to be up the tv and phone mast near me than its 1000 ft the small one is a 300ft temporary mast while the big one is still been worked on after the fire in August 2021

wheat stubble, harvested November, being fallowed through to summer crop ( sorghum or cotton ) this October, as part of rotation of different crop types & seasons & mainly to build up soil moisture reserves. Generally only plant a crop on a full moisture profile. A “full profile” here means at least 1 metre of soil moisture, but preferably 1.2 - 1.5 m

Mungbeans. Highly variable crop to grow, very quick, but if everything aligns they are by far & away potentially the most profitable crop to grow here. Not very reliable though . . .
Heliothis ( moth caterpillars) have been chewing the leaves for a while, but plants starting to flower now & the grubs love the flowers, so we are putting the plane over them today
These are a quick crop ( 90 days ) & relatively low water use, so the plan is that these will be followed immediately after harvest with with a cool season cereal, either barley or wheat, assuming there is enough soil moisture still there

Late sorghum, planted at Christmas. Planted “solid” & at a higher population, to try & speed it up to avoid late harvest difficulties & high grain moisture. Max moisture in grain sorghum is 13% & we will be harvesting in late autumn / early winter

Just for something different now.
As part of my job with Parks & Gardens with Council, I am responsible for cemeteries. Council owns the cemeteries & Parks & Gardens are responsible for grounds maintenance & grave digging / filling ( but not the actual funeral service or any monuments ).
We have a grave dig at Curlewis ( one of our villages, a “minor” cemetery ) on Wednesday. It is where I am from, where my farm is & where 3 previous generations of my family are buried & where I have a plot reserved 🤣
It’s a Saturday, but cos I’m out here I thought I’d find the plot & check it out prior to digging on Wednesday.
Will need to bring stringlines & tape measures & marking paint to locate it correctly. There are no pins in these old cemeteries, so can only go off existing monuments & fences etc. Things aren’t always as square as the could be though . . .
We might only do one or 2 burials each year in any of the outlying village cemeteries, most burials are in the main Lawn Cemetery in Gunnedah now.
The yellow road sign is the rough position

in the same section as my family.
The white marble headstone with wrought iron fence around it is my great grandparents, the row behind is my grandfathers generation & the back row is my fathers generation
