Yep, but why are we paying to waste our time doing this ? Are our lives so worthless in doing pointless activities ?
Because our union of which I was a member sold us down the river, I am ashamed to say I was one of the early converts, my membership number is less than 10,000, , I was young and naive and believed the bulls**t pedalled by the No Funking Use about consumer confidence and a premium for our produce. Now I'm older and a lot more cynical so I waste as little time as possible doing the red craptor records and it has become a bit if a game to me, got to laugh otherwise you'd go mad.

This is the next President's vision;

What a load of Bull Shyte

If you want to "Minimise Climate Impact" then you'd recycle human waste to get the nutrients back on farms & use renewables to create Nitrogen Fertiliser

No evidence this is forth coming at all, they're all after stealing Carbon Credits off UK farmers and IMHO the NFU is right there helping the slight of hand

Can someone explain to me.

So I get with the GRT that the supermarkets are trying to steal carbon credits.

I supply wholesale markets & small retailers. Could I be in a situation where my carbon credits went to supermarkets for free but my wholesale customers had to buy their carbon credits.

This becomes even more sinister because for years, red tractor have wanted the wholesale markets to go red tractor only, but they have refused.
With GRT the wholesalers could be forced to go Red Tractor only to get the carbon credits to run their fridges. Increasing subs for Red Tractor.

Ah right well i didnt know any of that Thanks
Still Loathe some of the horsedodar they ask of us & then we make 2/3 of it up anyways... what a farce.
Thanks tho i'll take that on board.
Nobody likes it, at very worst it gives you time and an open market for a year just as you're into already. (Never know, your passport stickers might be worth a fortune on the black market too briefly 🤣) it also gives time to set up alternative marketing whether RT falls apart and assurance goes by the wayside or a new farmer owned scheme materialises.

Am I right in thinking RT are an independent, private oraganisation?

Why can't someone else set up a company, providing common sense assurance schemes for British farm produce??

Seems to me there isn't any choice of assurance schemes, and therefore no competition between RT and anyone else to provide the best "service" and do things the most sensible way.

If they were more businesslike they might do a better job of promoting the industry than the NFU, AHDB and RT put together.
I've been laughed at and told that's ridiculous for suggesting this multiple times, told I'm an apologetic RT sympathiser for suggesting it, for suggesting farmers take control of their own market!

Its good that the Nsa sticks to their guns and what their members want.
same as those that have stopped FA or never joined which at times has cost them money being principled and standing up against bullies costs worth it in the long run though. i bet plenty on their death bed regret not doing that amongst other things ,,,,,

They may not explicitly want your carbon credits but as a condition of trade they will want you to do things.

Also extra income for the RT board. You know the NFU President is on the RT board?

You renew it, because its before 1st April. You won't be consenting to GFC and will have a year of a peaked market before RT implodes or backtracks.
LP you wrote as above but attached is the renewal contract that has landed on my door mat today. Please see “a” and tell me that if they change anything I haven’t given agreement that I accept there decision. This applies when I pay the amount due for the next year whether I sign it or not.

RT do one audit a year, one fee, GFC has not been launched, its still badged as voluntary and it has a fee to join. It will have very different audit measures to make you eligible for GFC. I don't have historical letters to hand but will try and dig one out to confirm that clause has been there for quite some time.

I was told explicitly by the NFU Cymru president Aled Jones only 2 weeks ago and in my own kitchen that the GFC would NOT go ahead on April 1st as it would need their consent as stakeholders-I didn’t believe him then and will carry out my threat of leaving the NFU if it does! I suggest others do the same.

NFU Cymru are doing a good impression of the right hand not knowing what the left is doing at the moment.

I applaud the pressure they are putting on WG but if they are supporting the GFC then it will be as bad
