Them prices certainly seem a lot more bearable than the JD ones, might just be on to a goer there. Take it that the stuff he sells is decent gear? cheers

Ask your JD dealer if he has an alternative, they are usually VAP dealers, better to supply than loose your custom. At least he will have the correct part numbers to cross reference.

Take shaft out and inspect splines carefully,if worn fit a new shaft and will last a good while if your not too heavy a user...if your doing a lot then a new sleeve, bit bigger job ...doesnt sound that bad for wear to me though...if you only ever use one end and never reverse it ,I have seen people weld them in! Or liquid metal glued in!
I'm having this same problem. The teeth on the inner shaft are so worn they are shaped like steps. I presume welding it would mean taking it apart so the seal doesn't get destroyed by the hot weld? And if it were taken apart to weld the 2 shafts together, can it be reassembled with the 2 shafts welded together?

Not seen it done on a jd to be honest but I think if your sure you never want the other end I’d be cleaning it well in and out and then trying jb weld ,or try tacking it where you can with the welder and cooling immediately with a wet rag.bit severe on bearings etc though .try jb weld

If you don't use the 21 spline side just weld it.
No getting around the seal getting fried so just get a new seal before you start. Done this with 3 jd's now without a problem after.
First time it happened I called the jd dealer and he said to come to him to do said procedure so hey.
Just make sure you weld it in without a wobble.

Nothing to loose even if you screw up.
