Old stone drain’s still making water after 300 years, even though they’re chockablock with soil. Probably been dug through by the tile men 100 years back. I found 5 or 6 today. Can find the tiles by following the stone drains to their wettest point.

Stop for a mineral water and a warm at the back of the digger😄

And back home for a quick warm before milking. 2 1/2 hours on the digger was long enough today. Managed to get what I wanted dug out. Hopefully, another good drying week and I’ll get it piped and stoned and backfilled🤞.
Very pleased with the new bucket.

We put some Bar Mix in. Very happy with how it’s performed but it doesn’t look like that currently!

That field of reseeded with bar mix after a summer break of forage rape. Before that it had been old perm pasture that had not been touched in 60 plus years.

It’s now a very productive field.

Finally had ground dry enough to replant the beans that the rooks destroyed View attachment 1168782
This should prevent a repeat. Just hope the gulls cleared the slugs up yesterday

Another 540kg kale today as well. Really pleased with this crop. On track to pick 8 tonnes off 1.2 acres in all.
(it does look a bit like an outdoor cannabis farm from certain angles!)

Hopefully ,I might have some in the garden this year that looks as good as that
