JF Combine Harvester

Reverse drive and front pto cost ££££
the jf is too wide for the road and many gateways esp on bigger tractor.
Too long to put on and off
A towed combine is quick to attach, you can see cutterbar, you open up field round the tramline and the tractor straddles the straw.
Plus you can get there at 50 k
And leave it at night to go home or do other jobs with tractor
Loads in canada
Ron Knight often spoke of a modern day trailed combine for uk use. With modern, high powered tractors with vario transmissions, modern electronic controls, it sounded plausible. How much cheaper they’d be with no engine, transmission, rear axle and cab.

I worked with a trail Dania for years, and it was a great wee combine, although a bit slow ,with only a 6ft. cut. If they had made one with an 8 ft. cut it would have been hard to beat. As said before start in the first tram line and cut round the field into the middle, then cut the outside and you lost very little grain.
You can open a break up a tramline too.
Kidd was working on a modern trailed combine till kv bought him out and closed it down

The above link may work to show you a JF MS90 Combine working in Austria. Our machine was bought when JF had a North American distributorship in Exeter, Ontario. My father used it for grain only for over 30 years. It was put away clean inside storage past 22 years and could have it ready for the field in less than an hour. It had the capacity of the Gleaner K, Case 600, etc. of the day with a 10 ft. cutter bar , finger reeel, etc. The bin sits on the 3 point hitch of the tractor. It has one wheel on the out edge and is supported by the 3 point hitch and a mount point on the frame of the tractor near the front. Its strong point was its ability to combine direct in HEAVY spring grain field that were lodged severely. This was a common occurance here with yields of mixed grain of 125 bpa. not unheard of.

Machines that were made for specific conditions work well wherever they come from. The JF was a Danish machine and we never had any trouble getting parts sent over even after the NA centre stopped selling. In fact, one time he said he ordered some baler parts (yes a rotobaler) and sent a FAX to JF the same day. He had the JF parts in his hands before the dealer called to tell him the AC Rotobaler parts were in!!
If anyone has North American connections or knows anyone who may be interested in this JFMS90 combine please let me know - would like to find a home for it….
