AgOpenGPS RTK Autosteer, How to Guide for £1000

Things are going better with the autosteer today. I was getting over 6 volts out of the press sensor, hence it was sitting at 75%. Had an Instrument tech from my work have a look. I had wired the press sensor direct to the 5v and ground output from the transformer. He linked the ground from the transformer to the tractor chassis and it was back reading 0.6V (I think from memory) across the terminals and 19% on the screen.
It is now steering but quite a bit of overshoot on the steering rams do need so play with the gain etc I think.
do the wizzard (y)

Does anyone know if a home built agopen gps system is eligible for the FETF46/47 gps lightbar and the assisted steering grants. It looks to fit all the requirements but as it is not an off the shelf system would you have problems claiming the grant on it

As they only pay percentage of actual cost, is it worth it?

Have thought about it, I think a Keya steering motor would qualify no problem.
You'd need an invoice, AliExpress does issue receipts with UK Vat on.

Hi @Andy26 , looking to install AgOpen RTK with Section control to our old self prop Knight Sprayer with a steering motor to start with to keep costs down. I assume the list in the first post covers the hardware? I am 40KM as the crow flies to an RTKgo base station which I think I’m right in saying will be ok for now? but could be interested in setting up my own base station eventually if all goes well. In your second post you mentioned potentially covering section control which I couldn’t find! Maybe just me? Thanks!

So I’ve got the Panasonic CF-D1 tough book , what’s the next step ? As I struggled 12 months ago to even get the file to open? 🤔 take2.

Download the zip file, extract to a new folder on your desktop.

Click on the AgOpenGPS exe file and have a play in Simulator mode.

More noddy questions! I think I’m in a field and I think I have an AB line. Trying to do the wizard. The steer switch is enabled but it’s not steering. When I touch the steering wheel i can feel it overcoming the pressure and knocking out the auto steer. But it doesn’t want to steer? Thanks in advance.

Like Andy, I have several versions on most of my toughbooks now.

First thing I do after downloading the Agopen is rename the zip file, adding the version number to it. I also create and rename a desktop shortcut to the .exe file to include the version number. It's not often I use older versions, but it is handy when its clear which one is which. I know I did once download a pre-release version instead of the latest stable release and was glad I still had the previous version installed when I found out down the field that it crashed.

You can delete the folder with the program in and any shortcuts for old versions, but leave the folder in your documents with the field and vehicle folders, called "AgOpenGPS". When you have got all your vehicles and fields setup, I recommend making a backup of that folder to another device.

What’s needed next @Andy26 ? Is everything on page one still relevant today?
do you sell the rest of the hardware in kit for/plug and play?
Many thanks
