All things Dairy

Oh joy!

We find they're tolerable, providing they have a favourite stand.

If they're not fussed where they park up for the night, they tend to have an early morning outing up to market...
She has two stalls where she will lie, only sh1ts in the cubicle front doesn't pee, so she is clean coming into the parlour. But the amount is unbelievable, I think she must only sh1t in the cubicle and nowhere else. Now if I could only train her to sh1t in the corner of the yard, and the rest of her mates as well , I could get rid of the scraper tractor 🤣

Finally sorted some fencing out and managed to get 30 odd heifers out

Some culls gone too, including an old girl 😭

All in all, 50 less mouths to feed either at all or by tractor which should help the bank balance 😵💫
Hopefully get another group out tomorrow 🙏

sounds a bit more positivity from you, certainly hope so.
I have good days and bad days, today was a good day, yesterday was a bad day, day before was a good day etc. I know we all get them I suppose mine just seem to be at constant opposite ends of the spectrum

Just putting a bit of a plan together to move things forward. Whatever I do it's going to involve selling a portion of my cows which I'm not looking forward to but if it means I can keep the other portion than that's better than no cows.

Trying to keep up with @Beef farmer on the money spending front. As soon as weather drys up it’s go time. Just got to get wash down hoses on and it’s good to go
What was the price per standing for the total build? I may have a opportunity as of today, but it needs a parlour ( ex dairy farm, not milked since they lost cow's to f and m 2001, just need a rough figure, last parlour we put I was 08 so a bit out of date.

Not easy to answer that as we’ve done more than just put a parlour in, complete greenfield site
