Wet here too was raining this morning it stopped for a bit it’s just started again. Just watched the weather it’s not a bad week but it is going to be spells of rain on Monday and Wednesday night mainly talking of some snow on Friday and into the weekend as it gets colder. Doesn’t look like much though we still have snow here now which always brings more just found a ewe buried in snow from the last time
I'm interested in that saying 'snow always brings more snow' which I've heard a few times......it can't really be right or it would never stop snowing, or maybe it doesn't with you!

If there’s snow on the tops we will need more snow to shift it. It won’t just melt or disappear with rain. So the sooner it snows the better unless the next lot that comes doesn’t shift either

Another one I couldn't understand was what an old farmer in our village said to me during a drought, "it won't rain because the grounds to dry to draw any" , going by his theory it would never rain ever again

I would agree that a lot of any type of weather will draw more of the same.
When we are as sodden as we are now, any better weather will create more water vapor, producing and drawing in more wet weather.
When we get dry, it similarly takes a lot to change things when everything is desperate to soak up any moisture that arrives.

Likewise, you rarely get an isolated storm, once you get large atmospheric imbalances, it seems to perpetuate more.
