Average rain fall is around 41 inch so we must have had considerably more it is a sandy loam over gravel on 98% of the land I grow crop on. Going back to the days when I had cattle we could umbilical slurry just about any day we wanted to if wet the tractor would just put cleat marks in the land.
Average rain here is around 560mm. I cant recall a month recently where we havent had at least double the normal. Flat, clayland.

Is there any sign of this weather taking a turn for the better?
No today was supposed to be light drizzly and it’s pissing down again.

I basically I am not bothering with any models further than a week out. This weekend was supposed to be high pressure this weekend now it’s sh!t. They really have no clue on the model runs they have been forecasting a dry week since July and it’s still crap

Fairly crap. Messing about with terra wheels dragged out from the back of the shed. Getting some adapter plates made up. There were two slightly different sizes almost indiscernibly different to my poor eyesight and dodgy tape measure. Took a punt on 21” PCD. Hope that’s right or they won’t fit. Agro turned up with a wodge of spray tickets. Is he having a laugh? He could hardly walk across it, how does he think I’m going to apply it. I’ve also gone well off script from the expensive government funded NMP. Reams of it. Just put on what I normally put on and filed the bumf report ready for “when the man comes around”.🤣

Doc its raining heavy again as i type this and sometimes I think its maybe as well i got very little crop in given how shitty the weather has been but then i dread the prospect of a late spring drilling ..
A real dammed if you do and dammed if you dont season ...
But you know i reckon your shed must be like Alladins cave no matter what you need you seem to have it ...
If you ever decide to pack in this bizarre profitless racket were addicted too you would have one hell of a dispersal sale .
Probably take two days :) ;) to clear everything and would be an event not to be missed !!
The only way to get rich out of farming eh !!
I sincerely hope you never pack it in because i really enjoy your posts as you navigate your farm through the current treacherous waters .
Best wishes

Windy here now. It goes from too wet to travel to a wind which dries it up slightly but makes it too windy to spray or spread then straight back to rain. It’s making the job almost impossible. I’m fast losing interest to be honest. There’s just nothing I can do on the arable front. I’m keeping busy but the knowledge that half my livelihood is more or less in jeopardy is wearing.
