This may not be representative but our farm had a lot less hedges and woodland on a 1765 map of the farm than it has now.More grass/Hay meadows though .
That`s true here
Before the enclosures most of the parish was open common with small field near farmsteads.
Most of the hedges were planted early 1800`s. With the 3000 m we have planted last 3 years more hedges than ever

Bit disappointed BFU not part of 2nd review. Any comment from our hierarchy?
Maybe our own fault for not (having time) asking to be part of it. Or maybe they might have thought to ask us. Maybe they'd have wanted a financial contribution

Guess we should ask the review commissioners if/how we can contribute. Presumably AHDB and the listed farming unions will have been involved in setting the remit, so how can we be on the inside and make sure the remit is appropriate, have sight of all the review submissions.

Should individual review submissions be kept private or published (with anonymity)?

Or respondents could have the option if their responses will be made public or not.

It would be a good idea to make a formal request to take part in this. You after all represent farmers who may have no other voice and who maybe over looked in this process.

A formal request to the review commissioners to take part should provoke a response to the BFU which may allow us to gauge how they view the BFU and it's work thus far.

We do need a place at the table.
