Kubota M6 experiences

Evening,

Does anyone have any experience of the Kubota M6 002 range?

Looking for a loader tractor which will undertake yard loader duties, mow, spread fert, slurry, mow and cart a lot of round bales. Essentially an all rounder.

Just had a 132 on demo and it's a nice enough tractor. Might just be a feeling but thought it was a touch underpowered? Real world experience from users appreciated.

It's up against a NH t6.155 and Case Maxxum 125.

All three very close on price with length of 0% offer making most difference. Kubota has 5 yr warranty.

Thanks

A friend has one ,not sure which model but around 140hp I think. Its on a mixed farm doing livestock duties ,combi drilling etc.I think he likes it.
He does lurk on here, occasionally, but I can't remember his handle. He did a review of the tractor on YouTube so maybe worth searching for it.

I would go M7 if you can handle the size. Heavier built tractor altogether, 50k front suspension. There’s some very reasonably priced x demos around if you look.

Trade in Value, Warranty, Service Costs & Dealer back up are everything when buying new.
If you accept that they will all need dealer attention then that may sway you.

I'd buy the Kubota because it is a relatively new model, the dealer will likely bend over backwards to help while Kubota U.K will back him 100% to push the numbers out.
( I have Kubota small engined kit which is reliable & I like it.)
They are a huge progressive company who want to & will continually improve their products unlike some others.
Try a 143 if the 132 feels underpowered or go to the next size up............you are buying it.

I'd buy the Red one before the blue one if it was a choice of the other 2 but that would 100% depend on dealer back up

Just to say we run 3 M7173 kvt's and have bought 6,in total, since they came out .
Few small software issues but nothing that's stopped a tractor from working.
Overall very pleased with them.

There's two M6s - the 001(light duty) and the 002. The 002 is 6t with 7t lift and the same engine as the M7. To be honest, it felt well built and a nice place to be. We started looking at an M7 but it's an unnecessary £20k more expensive for us and 40k plenty for 90% of our work. M6 actually does 45k anyway.

Warranty is an excellent 5 years (NH 3, Case 1(!)), which is the main selling point. Residual value is probably the main concern or at least an unknown.

It only had 5 hours on it but I did think that a 6.1 litre would have kept pulling a little better. Mind you if people are using them for cultiatuons etc it's us probably not used to it.

Wev a mgx135 which is basicly the older model of the lighter version m6, good wee tractor thats very easy on fuel, the heavier m6 should be a good buy as just a bit heavier and bigger lift capacity. If you dont mind me asking whats the ballpark figure on a new m6 heavy?

We've been quoted £75 000 for a basic spec with loader 6-122, but having driven the 132, wouldn't want less.
Rough spec - Manual spools etc, no screen, but it has auto box functions, brake to stop, 4 speed pto, f and c suspension - so easily everything we need and a slightly better spec than the very similarly priced Nh and Case, but no dealbreakers.

Given we would be buying on finance, with the 0% deals around, it makes our original idea of a 2000hr ish tractor uncompetitive as they're generally 3/4 yr old, worse warranty and far worse finance.

Has the 122 the smaller engine? Our 135 was 58k mabe 3 years ago now with no loader so thats not a bad price

No, same engine through the range. Yes, I was pleasantly surprised with the quotes. I think it can run away quite quickly once you start adding things!

Everyone I speak to who has a Kubota likes them, anyone I know who has traded one has bought another.
Most of the dealers have been settled for a few years now.
The competition is fierce in the hilly bits where the Kubota's are appearing.
If you like the dealer get her bought, a 5 year warranty is hard to ignore.

Funny that I've just come across this thread!

Did think about doing a follow up when I was out on it spraying today but got distracted by the mess I was making. Im sure thats not just me!

Had our M6-132 for just over 2 years now and just over 1000 hours. Spec'd with loader front linkage, screen which i think was required for auto on off of pto and wider tires.

On the whole cant really fault it or the dealership we had it off.. Would say its fairly basic but pimped up with a few nice bells and whistles. Perhaps could do with a little more oomph when ive got the combi on the back into ploughing (maybe should have gone for the 142) and I feel it uses more fuel than the tractor we traded in even just tootling about the yard using the loader - although I cant be definite about that. Would say its a pretty decent all rounder, does all our loader work (loading grain bales etc), mowing, baling, and do all the drilling with it. Fairly comfortable well laid out cab, however it has the most annoying beep for gear changes, hms pto disengagement, when you take your arse of the seat and when the adblue level reaches 40%!!!! Still yet to find the buzzer and cut the wires! VIsibility is generally good but terrible out the back at the puh. Power shift seems pretty good as do the controls on the shuttle, plenty of back end lift capacity.

Happy to answer any questions on it.

For everything else apart from the odd time drilling would you say it's powerful enough for the rest of the work? It's the one we're edging towards due to the dealer, warranty, finance and generally liked it on demo. Obviously, weather has been too poor for the muckspreading we had intended to really test it with.

Also strange - not one cubby hole for your lunchbox!

Saw a YouTube clip of someone demoing one and and he liked it but his one concern was the handbrake being easily knocked out by your foot and he thought it needed to be repositioned
Have they since done that or is it not a problem to others

kick it occasionally. the fix was changing the red plastic to this one with the tab at the bottom which stops you kicking the button

Would probably have been better to have shortened or by a few inches so it doesn't stick out
