Hi, I was testing my autosteer yesterday whilst doing some cultivating. And I’ve discovered that It doesn‘t like bumps in the field and seems to be doing about 10/20cm accuracy even though it’s got rtk. I was just wondering what settings I’d need to change to get the best results?

You can see in the picture bellow if you look on the right theres a bit of a bump in the wheelings from the cultivator and if you look along those wheel marks it’s fairly wobbly all the way up them.

Perfect , yes need to switch off WiFi on my phone .

anyone know roughly how much data will be used by using hotspot on your phone? In a day say . ?
Is that an iphone? Don'y have to change my wifi settings at all with an android, but it might explain why my fathers iphone's hotspot is such a PITA.

If you were connected 24/7 for a whole month, most Ntrip streams will be around 1 to 3 gigabytes a month. It varies with which messages are sent and how many satellites it is sending information on. You only spend a fraction of the time every month driving tractors though.

The trouble is if other programs and the operating system try to download updates. They can consume far more data than the Ntrip stream will. I had most of my phone data consumed very quickly last harvest when windows deemed and update to be urgent and forced it, despite being the hot spot being set to metered.

The accuracy of the signal and the accuracy of how well the tractor can then steer to the signal are two separate issues.

Have you double checked the settings for antenna height and roll are correct?
Are you using board that syncs the gps receiver and imu roll signals, such as PANDA, v2.5 or v4 ?

On what size do you think GPS is usable. Here in Europe most of our fields are 0.5ha area or even smaller, we just have couple of 2+ha fields. Do you think GPS would be worth it for such small field. Thanks for the replay.

No simple answer there, what do you grow on your fields? Do you mostly use mounted implements or trailed?

Easier to avoid overlap/gaps with small machines but the total loss could be about the same as with bigger machines. Avoiding fatigue less of an issue on small fields.

If you feel comfortable building an AOG setup, I would not think twice be it small or large fields.

I’m in N Ireland a lot of our fields are 2ha give or take, works fine for me and wouldn’t want to be without. I don’t tramline with drill for example so have always laid tramlines with sprayer.

Well done for this Andyinv it definitely helps. You must put so much time into creating these videos. It really is clever software and i think alot more user friendly than the mainstream brands

Would it be possible to get advice to alter the boundary if it needs correcting from a wrong position?
Some of mine are a meter or so off(messing with base station 🤦‍♂️)
I've tried the offset fix but that doesn't seem to do anything🤷‍♂️

Have 70 cows, 30 of them are milking, we do everything our self, so have mower combination 3m+3m, teader 6m, rake 8,15m, we also have corn planter and normal planter and we have cca. 10ha of fields and 35ha of grass fields. Yes will probobly go for gps on smaller 100hp tractor. Thanks for the replay =) and sorry for bad English

You will need a Windows tablet, like the Panasonic FZ-G1 a PCB with a CanBus chip on and antennae.

Will also need to make a cable with plug to connect to the relevant CanBus network.

Nice and easy compared to starting from scratch.
