Yeah I've had some here complaining about a broken stile that was right next to a easy opening swinging gate. The stile was on the wrong side of the gate for starters and they didn't like it when I told them they had already gone through a gate that wasn't the designated footpath to get to there eitherThose footpath pansies are the must unreasonable people. I get done all the time for breechs of there daft rules.
I've found the actual footpath officer or whatever they call themselves to be ok if you can show reasonably why you have done or are doing something. It's the f**king goretex clad morons who can't read maps that walk them thar are the problem. You want to try farming in Cheshire… touch a footpath and the footpath officer will be knocking on your door before you’ve got back to the house. There’s lots of people will says it’s completely unreasonable around here.
I’ve got 1 footpath in particular that I’ve put signs up on, some self appointed stroker decided he would just pull the posts out. Capped him when I went with the jcb and stuck it 4ft in the groundproblem with signage on footpaths is most of the people don’t read them , or think it doesn’t include them !
It’s cyclic all you need for stores is land and some gates,no other ag industry is as easy to get into,or out of,it won’t be any different round here, most were full up all winter. And don’t forget all these arable farmers and even some dairy farmers now that seem too think sheep are easy money and they want a piece of the pie now too
Footpath officer went to see my dad and produced a map saying he needed to sort a stile out,it wasn’t on his land and the neighbour at the time was a right twàt,footpath officer declined to visit because of past dealings,so they do keep away if you give it to them. You want to try farming in Cheshire… touch a footpath and the footpath officer will be knocking on your door before you’ve got back to the house. It’s only a matter of time…I'm not in favour of right to roam but we never see anyone. Footpaths sound far worse from the carry on mentioned on here.
Hopefully our neck of the woods is too remote , and under populated to get many of them !It’s cyclic all you need for stores is land and some gates,no other ag industry is as easy to get into,or out of,it won’t be any different round here, most were full up all winter.

Same here but unfortunately Im married to her so have to listenI have one old biddy who quite often phones me up to tell me there's a hole in a dyke or that cows are making a mess around a ring feeder etc and it's making the place look untidy...
Haven't exploded at her yet but only a matter of time
What's the cairn in the background? Williamlaw?
That's where right to roam could be better. Tell someone where they can only go and that's it, tell them they can go anywhere ( no crop damage, or private gardens) it's too much for them to fathom!they’re big into replacing stiles with kissing gates here. Make the countryside more accessible etc. except the man who puts the kissing gates in never ties the sheep netting back to the gate, and leaves it 10 inches above the ground rather than digging it in properly. So sheep have a choice of either walking around it or popping underneath it.
A bit … not to bad.Hopefully our neck of the woods is too remote , and under populated to get many of them !
@Hilly gets a bit of bother i think occasionally with bellends on bikes as he has Dere street the Roman road next to him, or through him !

Problem is that their sons and daughters are usually in jobs which come up with all these stupid/dull rules and regulations.Similar in most villages
