I'm just thinking of starting an AOGPS project. Sorry if this has already been covered but
1) Is isobus in the pipeline?
2) I'm looking to do variable rate drilling/ spreading (with Omnia) is this something that would be possible?
Thanks

1. Isobus is pretty much there, the project had been taken offline whilst the lead developer cleared the project with his employer, I believe that's been sorted, so hopefully will be back online shortly.

You can see a demo of it working here:

2. There is a rate control PCB that can do variable rate, I will be doing this for SFI.

May need to convert the Omnia maps to work with AOG, what format does Omnia produce?

@Kingston is your drill Isobus?

Using the rate control PCB, you can control an electric motor driving the seed metering to do the variable rate, if you have land wheel driven metering, then you could fit a 12V motor to drive the metering that AOG can control the speed of.

Great to hear re isobus! My current drill no but I am looking at changing and the replacement will likely be isobus.

Had a meeting with Omnia chap yesterday who said that Omnia produces ISO-XML or Sharp (unsure if correct spelling on this).

Added a multi-network Data SIM card from V12.co.uk to my FZ-G1

Remove the battery and you will find the SIM card slot, if you have one fitted, just have to remove a small cover secured by two screws...

Then go into network settings and add an APN with the details you will of been sent and activate that APN on the tablet and turn Roaming on which you will see as an option.

It's likely the SIM card internet will work right up to the point you connect your PCB to the tablet.
This is a known issue and easily fixed, follow the instructions in Method 1 in this link:

After making this change, it should work...

Full strength signal 👍

And RTK Fix...

Got to be worth a free one!

How much is that sim per month @Andy26 is it a contract or a monthly rolling one you can cancel whenever
From £8-12/month

£8 being 3 networks and 1GB data
£12 being all 4 networks and 2GB data

24 month contract.

Still having problems keeping rtk connected today. How quickly do those 4 way sims change connections?
Had similar prices from him anyone know if he does a trial period? 24 months is a bit steep if Phone signals are all not strong enough, not the problem or not swapping quickly enough to keep the tractor on track.

How would these cheap sims like voxi/smarty/giffgaff work in comparison if you knew they suited your area for signal. These can be had really cheap and are on a 30 day rolling contract so can cancel at any time and might be better suited to seasonal work

Multi-network sims change in 30-60 seconds.

Google has found this:

Looks good value if that's £44 for 1GB per month for 12.
