Another 45 acre in, Merlin s oats @ 145 kg/Ha.
Running Mike’s 50mm openers this spring, they’re making a good job in the marginal conditions.

What drill did you use?
ran the triton through twice. First time to open it up and get some air in, then drilled the second time a couple of days later. It was easier than running a combination as it would have been extremely slow and there was another 12mm of rain coming.

Thank F---..my heartfelt thought
All combinables sown /resown as of 20 minutes ago . Into fairly reasonable seedbeds , those fields sown earlier are either chitted sprouted or emerging only the odd corner or patch not in production . lads bringing the gear home can hear the drill tractor going past the house as I write ,crate to share in the fridge , weekend off , in fact think I might whisk mrs 4 course away for a couple of days whilst in this state of euphoria.ho ho

Well done for mentioning “the lads”, it’s all a team effort needing “a willing crew motivated by a good captain”.👍👍👍

Finished beans on Friday (the ground that I hadn't abandoned because it was too wet) and barley at 10.30 last night, just as it was starting to rain.
I moved lambing to late April because March lambing clashed with the spring arable work 🙄 :banghead: at least lambing outside you can just leave them to it for the day if need be.
