you are correct. and sadly, the cross with Baz produces progeny which is not as good as the 2 original breedsnice, but it's not a baz

One calf from heifer yesterday and one today. The first one is heifer calf sired by french lim JT out of 75% lim heifer, 286 days gestation, slight assistance with ropes; second is bazadaise sired bull calf out of bazadaise cross heifer, 287 days gestation, unassisted.
How many Gascon's do you have & what are they like? @choochter.
There used to be someone else up your way had a herd a few some years back, always thought they'd be an interesting breed for a Scottish hill.

Just 2 pure, this one and her mother, and 3 Gas/Baz crosses.
Interestingly, I never have to treat them in the winter for lice and mites, whereas I have to treat some of the Bazs.
These ones are lovely cattle, nice temperaments and no trouble calving.

Once heard a story. Robert Bakewell summonded Thomas Bewick, the Northumberland artist & engraver to draw a favourite animaldidn't know robert bakewell was in to gascon's
Bewick set to, then Bakewell came over.
Draw it with shorter legs, deeper body instructs Bakewell.
Bewick insisted he drew what was in front of him.
Words were exchanged, Bewick went home.
We can assume not all artists were not as honest as Bewick

Couldn't find any other ewe, she was huge before lambing so I think they're all hers.

We had a black ewe have two black lambs and one white one this year, we called him Steve white.
