Yea last year was the first year I sponged found it a very good as it tighten lambing and I focused my time over a shorter period of time compared to natural service and I can actually safely say I saved more lambs in my opinion as well

Not sure of the cost of the sponge tbh I’ve bought them a couple of weeks back good idea also but I think I might put the sponges into them as I don’t have a teaser

I’m going to sponge ewes this week just to tighten the lambing a bit but my neighbors tup broke into my flock 3 weeks ago and was running with the flock for 3-5 days max just wanted to know will I run into problems with ewes that could possibly be tupped if I sponge them any help appreciated

Yes thanks for the reply I was going to feed cake along the front of the barrier and in troughs inside also but I’ll have to reconsider i think as ewes could potentially hurt them selfs all at the barrier

Would I be better to only put 70 ewes and add a round feeder into the shed to compensate for less feeding space

Just wanted to know how many ewes I could house into a 60x25 lean two shed with straight feeding barrier the full length of the shed (ewes approx 80kg) Thanks
