To my knowledge the lights are the only thing that runs off this fuse. What confuses me most is if there's a short why does it not blow the fuse completely rather than just melting it?

Looks good, similar to what I was thinking apart from I was planning to mount mine a bit between the arms so that it doesn't stick out the front too far.
