    Anyone want any help?

I’m currently feeling like a need to get away for a few days, but want to be occupied.... does anyone need any help with sheep anywhere? I have two good dogs and am fit and healthy. I will stay in b&b so will be self sufficient! I’d love to go somewhere with fells/moors/hills.

    Kill out %

What are NS lambs typically killing out at? Sent some to the local abattoir, all 38-42kg and they have come back at 15-17kg - that’s supposedly killing out at 40%?!?!?

    Weaning & shearing

Was hoping to wean and shear at the same time but looks like it won’t be possible for various reasons. If I weaned today and tomorrow, would their udders have gone down enough by Saturday? Lambed late feb early March.

    Birds and bales

Any great ideas for keeping the buggers off while they are still in the field? I will cart and stack them as soon as I can but I’m on my own and it takes me a while....

    Larsen trap

I’ve just picked up a fledgling crow. Is it too late to set up a Larsen trap? I’ve got one but just didn’t have a bird to put in it.

    Stud dog

Can anyone recommend a quality collie dog for my bitch. She’s a fantastic little dog, stylish, determined, really listens, but can on occasion have a little bit too much eye. She has an incredible temperament and is very biddable, and I’d really like to keep this in the pups.... any ideas?

    Clover into grass

I’m sure this has been done to death, but what’s the best way to get clover into a ley? It was drilled last autumn, and will be cut in about a month. I’ve also got another field that could do with having some put back in after it all was thistlexed last month.

    Where to buy

Fert and sprays. We’ve always bought from Bartholomews and their agronomist has been brilliant. However, he’s just retired and his replacement just doesn’t bother to get back to me at all when I want to order stuff. So this may be a stupid question but where is best to buy? I need some...

    Fostering and outside lambing

I have a shearling that's had a dead twin and a live one. The waterbags were still intact so I tried wet fostering a triplet but she was having none of it. Would you bother bringing her in and putting her in the stocks? Or just leave her alone to rear one? I think my normal instinct would be to...

I've put mag in the water, they've got mag blocks, maxx blocks and I started feeding them yesterday but still lost 2 overnight. Ive got no grass anywhere else and just...
