Contractor has given us the option to double wrap the Fusion bale in plastic instead of the previous net option. We normaly put 6 layers of wrap on our net wrapped silage bales and get very little mould, important as alot is fed to sheep.
The question is would with 2 layers of plastic to wrap...
We have got a rotting out issue in our swede crop. About 15% I would say have gone soft and rotted. On close inspection initial thoughts are either:
Slugs - certainly a high number but on there own boring holes would they cause the whole swede to go soft? Some sort of disease dead heart etc...
Seems to be that time of year - turning over the upside down heavily pregnant ewe. Was thinking today has anyone actually seen a fellow sheep give her friend a push back upright. Thought a lighthearted question might brighten up a particularly murky wet day in Dorset!
