    Nitrogen in seed bed

Same here, but at least you’ll have saved some of your fert cost. I doubt it would have yielded more if you had put it on, in the absence of moisture. I applied all of my Winter Barley N in one hit last weekend, as the first time I could travel without digging ruts. It was at a lower level than...

    Who's bottled it ?

…and not much of it into heavy clay soils I suspect.

How do I treat interdigital fibroma? Vet has no idea what it is

It gets bigger and bigger, causing more and more pain. Either treat or euthanase (locally called ‘to gecko’).

My favorite ewe has interdigital fibroma. The vet has no idea, how do I save her?

Old way would be to cut it off and quarterise it, either with a hot iron or by applying a poultice of copper sulphate or similar. Probably a vet job with anaesthetic these days of course. However, it will almost certainly grow back, so best to stop thinking of her as your favourite ewe, and...

    Clarkson again

It might be that those ‘chippy’ comments come about as a result of the way some responses are worded? ;)

    Lambing losses.

I haven’t dare look in here for a bit, but very impressed that so many of you seem to have kept accurate records of losses over lambing. I have an idea from looking at ewes that scanned as multiples that only have one at foot, but certainly don’t record each loss in my outdoor mob. I mentally...

Does that mean the blinking was an involuntary response too? 🤷‍♂️

    Ban Non stun slaughter

No, but I am suddenly suspicious of our new member @sustainable24 's motives, given the comment I highlighted. I have seen it done with a sharp knife a few times and there was certainly no more fuss or suffering than whenever I've seen it done in abattoirs. That's not to say that I...

    Ban Non stun slaughter

Presumably they were volunteers before, if they were asked to blink? 🤷‍♂️

    Ban Non stun slaughter

Really? Why does that particular comment set alarm bells ringing?🤔 As for lambs 'bleating like hell', the job must have been done very badly. Whenever I've witnessed it it has been fast and quiet, with unconsciousness pretty well instant tbh.

    VOIP for a Landline.

You are not tied to using your internet provider for your VOIP service, although BT will bundle it (at extra cost). My VOIP contract is a PAYG contract with Andrews & Arnold, and costs a whopping £1.20/month, with outgoing calls charged per minute (if you make any). As we have WiFi calling on...

    Electric fence corner insulator

Looks like a recipe for shorting between the live wire and the retaining wire. There can't be much gap between them? I was going to post a link to the RAPPA slotted insulators, but @Poorbuthappy beat me to it. That's what I use for polywire sheep fencing on corners.

I've just had a couple of ton of lamb creep in for the cade lambs. Apparently having it in small bags now adds £60/t!

If it comes dry on late drilled Spring Barley, it's probably better to save the second dose.

    The war in Ukraine...

It would likely trigger WW3 whether we were involved or just all other European nations. IF such actions were deemed necessary for the security of Europe then we, the UK, should stand shoulder to shoulder in solidarity.

    The war in Ukraine...

Leaving aside your personal connections, surely ALL soldiers' lives are precious, and they should only be deployed if there is good reason. IF that decision is made, in the security interests of the western world, then we should absolutely stand shoulder to shoulder with our European cousins.
