    Manitou MLT731 starter motor replacement

A lot of useful information there, thanks! The starter p/n is 2873k634 if that means anything? Unfortunately I really need the machine to be working at 8am on Tuesday so I shall have to fit whatever starter motor I can find locally tomorrow and hope that doesn’t mean I have to do this all again...

    Manitou MLT731 starter motor replacement

Not sure, sticker says RG81374? I’ve taken the radiator out now so I’d probably prefer it if nobody comes along to say there’s an easier way!

    Manitou MLT731 starter motor replacement

Thanks del_boy, mine’s an 08 reg and sounds as though it’s a different set up. My starter is at the back middle, in between the engine and the radiator. Any inspection plate seems to be further than arms length away

    Manitou MLT731 starter motor replacement

I need to replace my starter motor. How on earth do I get at it? I’m assuming I need to remove the radiator but I’d love someone to tell me there’s an easier way!

Thanks! I'll be in touch for the parts once I've identified what's needed

    Manitou wobbly wheel

The king pin or bearings or something has worn out on the front right of my Manitou MLT731 2008. When I lift the front off the ground the wheel moves quite a lot top to bottom. Is this a diy repair? Where could I find some instructions? Should I just take it to a specialist? Any advice...

    Hedge cutting with a Manitou?

I used to do the hedges with a compact tractor and a McConnell Swingtrim without too much trouble. Unfortunately I don't have that set up anymore. Remember I'm talking about hedges on a caravan park, not acres and acres of farmland

    Hedge cutting with a Manitou?

Are we still talking about the flail or have we all moved on to the finger bar? https://www.kellfri.co.uk/hedge-trimmer-for-frontloaders-trima

    Hedge cutting with a Manitou?

I'm sure the pump would run it but I'd be going a bit quick to do a tidy job. I'm now thinking something along the lines of the Kellfri trimmer that was posted earlier as it only requires 15 lpm

    Hedge cutting with a Manitou?

That's my plans scuppered then! @ACEngineering would it cope with a smaller finger bar cutter with a much lower oil flow requirement?

    Hedge cutting with a Manitou?

There are no markings on it to say that I've found. It's a 2008 MLT731 T if that helps. What markings on the pump or elsewhere should I look for? Thanks

    Hedge cutting with a Manitou?

Thanks for your reply Mr Happy. I'm doing lots of homework and I have no plans to cut up the Farmtrim until I am sure it would work! I've just started talking to these guys http://www.slanetrac.co.uk/tractor-front-loader-finger-bar/ But they haven't told be the price yet. The Kellfri machine...

    Hedge cutting with a Manitou?

I've looked at the Kellfri machine but do you know if it can be swapped between right and left hand cut? I would prefer a flail though

    Hedge cutting with a Manitou?

I run a holiday caravan park, we've just replaced our tractor with a manitou MLT731 as it will be better at siting caravans etc. The only machine I ever used on the back of the tractor was an old Bomford 435 Farmtrim hedger which I will miss but it's not viable for us to keep a tractor and a...

    Manitou mystery hose?

Thanks! That's the assumption that I had made but it's great to have an expert put my mind at rest! Is it a straight forward job to remove the redundant hose? And would you remove the other one? Thanks again!

    Manitou mystery hose?

As far as I can tell the other end of the pipe finishes above the front axle and can only be seen by removing the Manitou badge at the front of the chassis. I'm only guessing but I would imagine anything to do with buckets or attachments would have to be running up the boom. Thanks for your...
