Much as our soil conditions would allow us to do it - unfortunately the slugs won’t. How effective is multiple stubble raking post osr pre wheat drilling in managing slug populations or is this just wishful thinking ?
Any tips on Pea and bean weavil control in spring beans? Product choice, rate, water volumes, time of spraying ?? Do any make any difference?
Have got reasonable, rolled seedbeds and some fields are getting hit hard despite having been sprayed. Others have little damage. They are what they are...
Just wondered how wide people are managing to spread the current generation of slug pellets with Stocks type spinning disc applicators? Sluxx and others are a tiny pellet compared to old metaldehyde products and I’m not finding they spread any more than 12 metres. This is without any wind and...
If glyphosate is vital why aren't we doing more to protect it's efficacy? A question asked what people were doing to manage this in the DD section a while back and I was not surprised to discover a head in the sand mentality. DD can put more pressure on glyphosate than any other system and...
Could anyone recommend a good quality retractable air hose reel for mounting in the workshop? Happy to spend a bit more on something that will last. Thanks.
Looking at some of these for a loader. They look to wear well but wondered if any users could comment on traction and how much mud/muck/stones they pick up in the pattern versus a normal open tread pattern. Thanks.
In the past have sold straw in the swath on a per bale basis. However now some balers are much higher density than others this no longer seems the most transparent of systems. Just wondered how others manage this to get an equitable outcome ?
Have a JD 6920s and an Amazone Profis Hydro spreader running on the power beyond but having a few issues getting it to run properly. The tractor has the 96 litre/min hydraulic pump and the spreader needs 70 lpm.
It runs the spreader Ok but if the steering wheel is turned quickly the spreader...
Is anybody managing to get this spreading to 40' ? Need something to do it consistently and even with a side breeze. From what I saw of it this last season it couldn't get anywhere near this, even though it is sold as a way of achieving exactly that. I am thinking the Claas chopper/ spreader is...
Need to fit an isobus socket to that back of a non isobus tractor. Have found a Mueller kit to do it, but it doesn't look suitable for mounting externally due to the lack of a decent seal and any moulded terminals. Really needs a decent IP rating. Could anyone please suggest an alternative?
Looking to make an attachment for a telehandler and it would be easier if the hydraulic coupling could made automatic. The idea is to hitch it on without having to jump out every time to plug in/ remove the pipe. Is there anything out there made for this purpose ? Thanks for any suggestions.
Currently have a mobile contract with local buying group. No line rental, and calls, texts data charged at set low rates. Its OK for a low user but if you text a lot or use data it starts to add up. I've looked at some other very good all inclusive deals, but the the pitfall appears to be calling...
Looking for something to replace a small hydraulic ram (6" stroke) that lifts a metering wheel up and down, with something 12v powered. It is on a quad, so no hydraulics. I'm thinking a standard linear actuator could do the stroke and weight, but would be too slow. Is there such a thing as a...
Looking at some trailer options and wondered what advantages air brakes offer over standard hydraulic brakes. They cost more, require more servicing, the actual physical braking is the same and they require something with air to move the trailer. Not sure where the upside is !
This was an option on this year's CRs and just wondered if anyone had experience with it and whether it makes any difference to performance other than not having to stop for stones.
Have a 531-70 with the 6 speed auto gearbox. It has to be revved hard (over 2000 rpm) to get it to shift. There's no need for this and all it does is burn a lot of fuel. Just wondered if there is any way to get it shift sooner and how it is adjusted.
Have got a Spectrum weather station with a GPRS unit on a farm 10 miles away. The data uploads to a website every 15 mins from the datalogger and can therefore be viewed anywhere. Trouble is the company that run this side of it have gone into administration so I can no longer view the real time...
