    Clover seed

Does anyone throw clover on with fert? Thinking of stitching some into some silage land and wondered just about mixing it with fert then rolling it in?

It's a pound in the grand they pay back, very rarely bothers me for bits I buy, when there's blokes taking a 100 cattle out at a grand a piece plus, a 100 quid spent must be better than not getting the 100k

All bacs here, I pay on the day by bacs when I buy anything, but if I wrote a cheque out I would get a little bit back for 'paying on day'. Nothing back though for paying direct on the day though 🙄 Stores I sell are paid a week after the sale via bacs

Wolfenden concrete they got them from, yeah theres going to be a big move towards cubicles or slats, more initial outlay but should soon pay for themselves

    Straw trade

We've put cubicles in for sucklers and I know of several others who have, massive waiting list on portable cubicles... saving a fortune though on straw, will be putting more in for store cattle, once we have a bigger slurry pit ....

Want peace of mind for your excess calves?

I've signed a fair few disclaimers in marts this time when I've bought calves, for the milk contracts ... so you can do it if they go through the mart

    Next bull for suckler herd

Seems a bit pointless keeping a cow for a year and only leaving calf on for 5 months, there just really starting to shift at that age 🤷‍♂️

    What's your buisness plan?

Sorry for jumping on the thread, how do you come on with the creep gates? I suggested this Last year over a few pints with some friends and got laughed at, thought it seemed a good idea give your calves the best grass once the milk is going of the cows 🤷‍♂️

    Calf rearing

Just been investigating more and think we have found the problem, in the solid plastic elbow after the flexi of the fan that then blast your air up to the mushroom, is a metal baffle in it that's meant to sit in two grooves, well it is only in one groove and the other side is out of the groove...

    Accord Drill

1000 speed yes, and across flat and sloped land doesnt seem to be a proper pattern to it, the pipes that are causing the problem are all next to each other at the front of the mushroom, but once seed is up into mushroom where the pipes are shouldn't matter should it?

    Accord Drill

Weve had the same problems with a accord da/kuhn combi unit, fresh to us this time, outside 4 coulters on the left hand side have come horrendously, rest of the pass is all fine so ended up with strips of 8 coulters wide in field where it's very patchy but sort of there, its baffling us, I've...
