I currently run an orbis 750 on a jag 950, I can’t say I’m overly struck by the orbis, I had an old 6 row small drum Kemper on my old JD forager, chopper was awful, header was great. What’s the pros and cons between big drum and small drum kempers? We’re chopping some flat maize at the minute...
Hi there
I’m looking at getting a 570 lexion I’m a little unsure what the differences are between the + and the c I know the c is lower spec but in what way?
Hi there, I’ve had a bit of a problem with the wrapper on my fusion vario 2015. It’s not putting enough plastic on bales, it doesn’t make sense as the wrappers using the correct amount of plastic for 6 layers I.e 40 bales to a pair of wraps but some bales don’t seem to have a lot of plastic on...
So the other day I decided to heat my tractors drop hook as it has a slight twist from a trailer going over at some stage. The hook didn’t move even tho red hot, then I slowly quenched it. Could this of been a bad move or will it still be as strong as before?
I have an mf 7495 with the same box as an 820 I’m hiring tractors for the coming season and I’ve got to get rid of some. I’m thinking of keeping the mf for various reasons my only concern being if the vario packs up. Are there any ways to test it or is it dealer only? The tractors done around...
A friend of mine has a claas 650 and his suspended Carraro front axle diff has collapsed and taken the axle casing with it. It’s only done just over 3000hrs is there any legislation saying how long a drivetrain should last? The dealer wants 18k for a rebuild and 24k for a new axle. How can this...
Evening all.
I am changing a tractor for next season, I currently run a 7495mf, 7530jd autopower and Claas 650 hexashift. I'm swapping out the MF, I don't like the MF as a tractor but I love the fendt box, I love the 7530 but I feel the fendt box is way ahead of the Deere one. I've had an axion...
The brakes on my 7495 make a graunching noise when working on slopes, I.e baling and cultivating at lowish speeds. A couple of fendt guys I've spoken too reckon they do it from pretty much new. Is this the case or are they on their way out?
I currently have a 185 series 2 single axle and I'm looking at a tandem axle cutter just wondered what people's opinions are I've never used a cutter how do they feed and perform I bale sillage Haylage hay and straw also pros and cons as far as the tandem axle goes?
Hi I've just bought a new amazone fert spinner it's old stock so was at the dealers yard for a while. I set off with it and it was very inaccurate then I noticed that it only has a sensor on one shutter so is only sensing the left one as open should it have one on each shutter? have they robbed...
I have just fitted an ez steer and fm750 screen into my massey 7495 I've been fiddling with settings whilst using it on my trailed drill just wondering where others find it to work well I've got the angle on 10 the online on 108% and the find line at 120% it's pretty good but every now and then...
Evening all I was just wanting to get some views on when people think haylage is ready to bale. I'm a contractor and in my view it's ready when the stalk is dry and the nodes are still green and sappy but some customers say it's ready when it has green lumps in, this to me is dry silage. Others...
I am a contractor, farmer and engineer and was wondering others thoughts on machinery purchase. How many of you buy the machine then chase for work and how many get the work guaranteed then buy the machine?
