The Xform HB curved sides does start around 3.5m³ which is probably a bit on the big side for a 4 - 4.5 T machine

I agree that is another way of doing same job, so an option. Don't know why Xform that make nice buckets are straight sides

What size grain bucket would you match to a JCB 542-70 maximum m³ & also recommended curved sides grain bucket, because they are far nicer to use. Also what would be best made rough handling bucket for same machine

I'm looking to attach it to a tractor rather than buggy. On 30m tramlines a 24m cascade isn't any use for anything apart from Avadex

I'd imagine that you may want more for that than a new TMA4/Opico, a bit overkill for just Avadex.

No boom to mount one on. Older boom pneumatic fert machines are normally worn out on the booms. Back in the day we had a 20m cascade & it was the booms that failed in the end

Avadex Factor just isn't as effective

30m tramlines with 6m drill so every with boom width will be problematic, but tractor on RTK & notill means it's not too much of a problem Horstine & Opico are both 12m machines

Since diversity is the future especially when it comes to herbicides then it is maybe time for use to reconsider Avadex as an alternative pre-em herbicide. The quantity of flufenacet used in our rotation is a concern & even though for us herbicide is the cherry on the cake I think it maybe...

With those acres a fair amount would need refurbishing, at JD prices it would probably be cheaper to swap drills ???

Think that photo has convinced me to bite the bullet & upgrade when changing the boots. Have you ever bushed out the holes on where the boot attaches to the drill. The holes don't seem too worn & not too much up down play in the boot but wondering if worth it while the boots are all off

Thanks for the detailed reply. If they are 2.5 times harder then it may explain why they are twice the price! Out of interest how much narrower is the new firming wheel, any pics to compare?
