The front tank, drill bar and rear tank all comes off in about a hour to use as a power harrow and front press for when we are working maize and pea land down, its a good set up to be fair
Weve gone for the dmax power harrow which is rated to 500hp, there is about 5.5 ton on the back, the power harrow is 4.5 ton of that bit to fair if we went for the model down it would be lighter, they a do alot of different ranges, you can even have a 3m power harrow rated over 300hp i believe!
Weve never had a power harrow without a steel packer to be honest but it would be good to try a different one just to see what it did at some point, does the rubber packer do much in regards to breaking up hard clod?
We did a bit of a test in some terrible conditions when we were demoing where to be fair you wouldnt drill it in your right mind, only one drill actually managed to do it and it didnt even block a coltour, the horsch went 15 yards and blocked up 3 times solid, so for us that put lemken, horsch...
The main thing we found was that on the horsch, lemken and amazone the distance between the front and back coltours is about 6", if you have any heavy going or cloddy patches they just block up like your pulling a bulldozer blade
Hi, have you thought about a alpego? Their power harrows are very strong and their drill bar will still go in the wet when others wont, we demoed a horsch and amazone and we bought a 6m alpego, its a single disc coltour with 60kg of pressure
Yep what jim and phil have said warren is very helpful, we priced everything up through him, we did a test in some tragic conditions that you would of never of drilled it your right mind! To cut a long story short, the alpego did it, we demoed a 6m horsch kr, bunged the whole thing solid 4 times...
Hi all! we were hoping to start tomorrow but now that looks iffy due to the rain we have had, we have a 6 metre AS4 with a dmax power harrow on a john deere 7270r as mentioned earlier on in this post, We got it last year and we are very very very impressed with what it can do in conditions that...
