I'm out and about earthworm surveying over the next fortnight, its a great opportunity to showcase biodiversity. I’ve put heaps of resources online to support community earthworm monitoring activities: www.wormsurvey.org. This thread is a useful place to discuss trends and results

Thanks for the excellent response to the competition, the quality of entries was superb. The judging panel has selected the winner/finalists and I've notified everyone by email so I can post out the prizes. Thanks again for your interest and I hope we can put the worm survey template - winning...

I thought I’d mention that behavioural economists are using rational choice architecture (nudge theory) to reduce meat consumption. I couldn’t see it referenced in this thread - check out the governments Behavioural Insights Team ‘menu for change’ report, it explains how they are changing...
I’m back with an improved worm survey - made a Spring results portal which has a feature to upload photo’s so I can help with identification if needed. I’m testing this feature out to see if it’s used & useful. Link to survey is on uksoils.org & feedback welcomed, thanks!

The feedback on this pilot (#60mins) survey led to improvements for the...

I’d really appreciate 100x volunteers to try out my earthworm test on one of your arable fields this Spring.
It involves digging 10x spade size soil pits and categorising the earthworms. Then just post/email the...
